As an archaeologist with a passion for exploring the rich heritage of our world, I recently welcomed the New Year at Sunrise View, and I must say, it was a delightful retreat. Michaela, the owner, embodied warmth and friendliness; from our first hello, I felt at home. The location was perfect, nestled in the quiet beauty of Mayo, just a stone's throw from the stunning Lacken Beach. The views were breathtaking, whether gazing at the sunrise from the terrace or enjoying the lush garden. Breakfast was an absolute highlight—Michaela’s farm-fresh eggs featured in a traditional Irish breakfast that energized me for the day ahead. Not to mention, the amenities were thoughtful; I really appreciated the flat-screen TV for a bit of relaxation in the evenings after my travels. Two things I definitely recommend are following Michaela's directions for arrival—trust me, the scenic route is way better than what Google suggests—and taking time to just soak in the serene surroundings. Whether you're traveling solo or as part of a small group, Sunrise View is an ideal spot to unwind, and it's a place I wouldn't hesitate to revisit. Thanks, Michaela, for an unforgettable stay!
